Terms of Service

The terms for using Graphical Abstract Lab, including AI-generated content, credits, subscriptions, and research responsibilities.

Last updated: 2026-09-10

Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Graphical Abstract Lab. By creating an account, purchasing a product, or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use the service for an institution or organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.

The Service

Graphical Abstract Lab helps users organize research briefs, upload visual references, generate graphical abstract concepts with artificial intelligence, manage variants, and export results. Features, supported models, output formats, credit costs, and limits may change as the service develops.

The service is a visual drafting tool. It does not perform peer review, validate scientific conclusions, confirm journal compliance, or provide medical, legal, regulatory, or publication advice.

Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our breach of duty. Notify support@graphicalabstractlab.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not sell, transfer, share, or automate access to an account in a way that bypasses service limits or creates security risk.

Your Research Content

You retain ownership of research briefs, prompts, reference images, and other content you submit, subject to any rights held by your institution, publisher, funder, collaborators, patients, licensors, or other parties.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, transform, and process submitted content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. This includes sending prompts and selected reference assets to configured AI and infrastructure providers.

You represent that you have all permissions needed to submit and process your content. Do not upload confidential research, personal data, patient information, copyrighted material, or restricted data unless you are authorized to use the service for that material.

AI-Generated Results

AI-generated images can contain factual errors, misleading relationships, incorrect structures, illegible labels, artifacts, or material similar to other outputs. Outputs may not be unique. You must review every label, arrow, molecule, anatomical feature, numerical value, citation, and visual claim before using or publishing an output.

Rights in AI-generated material vary by jurisdiction and by the terms of the AI provider. We do not promise that an output is copyrightable, exclusive, non-infringing, scientifically accurate, or accepted by a journal. You are responsible for checking publisher rules, disclosure requirements, licenses, and permissions for your intended use.

Acceptable Use

You may not use the service to:

  • Violate law, regulation, court order, contract, confidentiality duty, or another person's rights.
  • Generate or distribute deceptive scientific claims, fabricated evidence, harmful misinformation, malware, abuse, or unlawful content.
  • Upload content containing personal, patient, or sensitive information without a lawful basis and required authorization.
  • Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, database, or other proprietary rights.
  • Probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, scrape, or bypass access controls, rate limits, credits, or security measures, except where law expressly permits.
  • Resell or provide the service to third parties without our written permission.

We may remove content or suspend access when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, comply with law, or secure the service.

Credits

Credits are a limited license to use eligible service features. They are not money, stored value, or transferable property and cannot be redeemed for cash. Credit prices, generation costs, expiration dates, and plan allowances are shown at purchase or in the application.

Credits are generally consumed when a generation task is accepted. The service is designed to restore eligible credits when a generation task fails or is canceled before completion. A result you dislike, without a technical failure, does not by itself make credit use refundable.

Promotional, trial, bonus, refunded, or expired credits may have separate limits and can be revoked when issued in error, obtained through abuse, or required by a promotion's terms.

Payments and Subscriptions

Prices, currencies, taxes, billing intervals, and included credits are shown during checkout. Payment and subscription providers process your payment method under their own terms.

Subscriptions renew for the interval disclosed at checkout until canceled. You can cancel future renewal through the available billing or provider portal, or by contacting support@graphicalabstractlab.com. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the checkout terms or applicable law require otherwise.

Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy and mandatory consumer law.

Third-Party Services

The service may rely on third-party AI, hosting, storage, authentication, payment, email, analytics, or support providers. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their independent acts, terms, availability, or content. Your use of a third-party service may be subject to additional terms.

Our Intellectual Property

We and our licensors own the service software, site design, documentation, branding, templates, and curated content, excluding your content and third-party material. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of the platform or its source code.

Availability and Changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features for maintenance, security, legal, provider, or business reasons. Where practical, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes that adversely affect paid users.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, fraud, security risk, non-payment, legal requirements, or conduct that harms the service or other users.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions, remain effective after termination.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service and outputs are provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, scientific accuracy, publication acceptance, and uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost research, data, revenue, reputation, publication opportunity, or business interruption arising from the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 100. This limit does not apply where prohibited by law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms to reflect service, provider, security, or legal changes. The revised terms will show a new update date. If a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it as required by law.
